My Top 6 Super Nigerian Women list.
There are several women I like and admire, ranging from Nigeria women to across the globe and in diverse fields. In commemoration of International Women’s Day, which was on the 8th of March, I choose to celebrate these women. I like to choose role models in different fields I look forward to exploring. It’s sometimes pathetic to see that in certain spaces, you don’t necessarily have women at the top of the list.
1. Dr. Ibukun Awosika:
Is a businesswoman, an author, a motivational speaker and a pastor. In 2023, she was 5th on the list of 100 most influential African women. She served in Kano State (NYSC) with a furniture company, which birthed her own company. In 1989, she founded Quebees Limited, a furniture manufacturing company, which later evolved into The Chair Centre Limited through a venture merger with SOKOA S.A. and Guaranty Trust Bank in 2004.
Ibukunoluwa Abiodun Awosika is Nigerian. She was the first female Chairperson of First Bank of Nigeria. She was appointed as a member of the Binance Global Advisory Board in September 2022. I particularly love this lady, as you can see she’s top on my list, she’s my role model, she reminds me that one can have a balance of success, spiritual and family life put together though I don’t know much about her family life so far I can say of her successful career and her visionary mind that at the age of 28 she already started her own company and her story being particular that she was a Muslim and became a Christian convert and has become a well known business woman, spokesperson and preacher of the word of God.
The major thing I like about her is how she does everything in God’s way; every area of her life is hinged on her relationship and work with God. If there’s any woman you are looking for to inspire you, listen to Pastor Dr. Mrs Ibukun Awosika. There’s nothing like finding a woman out there excelling in this man’s world. It’s a major pull and source of inspiration that women can do so much and soar as individuals in any sector.
2. Chimamanda Adichie:
is a seasoned Nigerian writer and a renowned feminist, I like her aspect of feminism she has authored the books Purple Hibiscus, The Thing Around Your Neck, Half Of A Yellow Sun, Americanah, We Should All Be Feminist, Dear Ijeawele, Notes On Grief, The Shivering and of recent Dream Count. She is based in the United States however her stories are based in Eastern Nigeria and the US.
My fav since ages, I fell in love with Chimamanda while I was in secondary school particularly when I read the novel purple hibiscus I still haven’t recovered from the experience. Back then in secondary school, I was a voracious reader and I liked to read African novels and to find a Nigerian author that I could really relate and connect to, who was a woman! I mean my small mind was blown away.
I remember travelling to Enugu, Nnsukka to be precise and roaming around University of Nigeria Nnsukka and relieving some of her plots in my head, it was an experience for me. I loved her writing style, Often times people tell me I narrate like Chimamanda. I don’t think I read any other book authored by her though I watched the movie of half of a yellow sun and partly read the book too. in the literary world this is my role model.
3. Stephanie Ike Okafor:
Is an Apostle of Jesus Christ and a Pastor at One church, who has committed her life to making disciple for his kingdom.
I first saw a video of her teaching at WOFBEC on YouTube but I didn’t open it nor watch it, then on a Sunday morning during workers training at my church Great House Christian Center (The fulfillment Place) Our senior pastor , Pastor Segun Oduyebo mentioned her name and the testimony she shared as he was present during the meeting and I felt the need to check her up on IG then I did and her teachings struck me so I followed her and it’s been amazing ever since, feels more like God brought her at an appointed time.
Seeing a beautiful young lady who is lead and filled with the spirit of God is amazing for me and inspires me on my personal walk with God.
4. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala:
You can’t talk about the most influential women in Africa and not mention this name Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. She is a Nigerian economist and the 7th Director general of the World Health Organization, making her the first African and the first woman to serve as the Director general. She took office on 1 March 2021, and her term of office will expire on 31 August 2025. On 29 November 2024, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala was reappointed as Director-General for a second four-year term, set to begin on 1 September 2025.
She served twice as a Nigerian finance minister and briefly as a foreign minister. Reading about her or hearing about women who have achieved great feets like these, creates a force in your mind. You can’t help but ask yourself what I’m I doing with my life as a woman! If she can achieve all these why can’t I? what’s stopping me? She deserves to be continually celebrated.

5. Kamisi Nnamani :
Is a fast growing youtuber, I thinks I first stumbled on her posts when I was searching for lifestyle bloggers to follow or youtubers who are also doing lifestyle bogging or vlogging and for me she’s an inspiration. I listen to her almost every week particularly because I love the way she thinks and the life she has built for herself, after serving (NYSC) going straight into building something for herself and now she’s thriving and living in luxury.
Well, it’s not so much to me about her background because from listening to her she isn’t from a poor home but the fact that she thought for herself, choose a path and has grown into having her own brand is something I greatly admire. This is me bringing it home to people I can at least reach.
6. El Favour Chidinma Miracle:
El Favour is a language coach, a Christian lady and young Nigerian Language enthusiast who runs an online language school called The Language Arena . When you have people already doing the things you want to do, you celebrate them and learn from them. To me she’s an inspiration and I choose to celebrate her.

I would really love to make this list 10 but even streamlining to 6 was difficult and also this post is already getting longer than I imagined. In celebrating international women’s day 2025, alot of big names should go on this list, some I know and some others I don’t, however here’s a mention of my other female favorites and if there’s anyone you think I should check out please mention.
